Anodizing
Anodizing is the electro-chemical process by which the surface of certain metals (primarily aluminum, along with magnesium and titanium) is converted into an oxide. The oxides are most desirable in specific applications because they provide increased corrosion resistance; increased durability and/or wear resistance; an excellent base for primers and paints; and, can be colored for identification or cosmetic purposes.
