Quality Manager

Description:

The Quality Manager will develop and implement quality management strategy and plans, including resources, systems, timescales and financials to support and integrate within the organization’s business plan and long-term strategy.

Essential Functions:

  • Plans and directs activities concerned with development and maintenance of quality standards for processes, materials and finished products.
  • Implement procedures and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Interfaces on a daily basis with customers with regard to quality issues.
  • Works very closely with the Production Manager and related departments to ensure quality standards are adhered to.
  • Communicate daily with the Lab Department with regard to tank status and condition so non/low functioning tanks will not interrupt production.
  • Establishes program to measure precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment.
  • Investigates and responds to customer complaints regarding quality.
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
  • Directs and assists with training workers in the Inspection Department and Laboratory Department engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data.
  • Participate with internal/external audits.
  • Complete all Cause & Corrective Action Forms.
  • Maintain current and pertinent FAA Regulations and Plating Specifications.
  • Perform Job Audits.
  • Performs thorough and timely employee performance evaluations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • 5 Years previous experience in related industry
  • 5 Years proven supervisory or management experience
  • NADCAP training / experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience with regulatory agencies a plus (FAA, EPA, OSHA, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal / management skills
  • Positive attitude with regard to internal and external customers
  • Physical requirements: bending, lifting, periods of sitting, standing, walking.
  • Strong PC skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to motivate and provide good leadership to employees

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 Years plating industry experience a plus
  • College degree preferred in related field (i.e. Industrial Engineering, Management, Industrial Technology)
  • Must pass FAA required Pre-Employment Drug Screen
  • Position requires participation in Drug & Alcohol Prevention Program
